MOON RISING
One Lonely Shadow
Released 2008
Blue Moon
Rising's sophomore
release on Lonesome Day Records is
a brilliant collection of powerful
songs delivered with rich instrumentation
and stunning vocals. Among the six
songs written by the band are “The
Hanging Tree” which is a look
at the dark side of humanity through
the tangled branches of an ancient
tree. The band also delivers an incredible
interpretation of Bruce Springsteen’s look
at a sector of society that has been
forgotten in “Youngstown."
Other highlights include Fred
Eaglesmith’s “Freight
Train,” Townes Van Zandt’s “Marie,” and
Verlon Thompson’s statement
about the eternal life of music in “I
Will Come Back Again.” Robert
Fulks’ “Where
There’s
a Road” was one of the
top five most requested songs on Sirius
Bluegrass.
Packaging
is a 4-panel digipak with an 8-panel
lyric booklet.
